Today, the best in women’s figure
skating will be crowned. Yuna Kim, Adelina Sotnikova and Carolina
Kostner are in a virtual tie after the short. Gracie Gold is not far off
in fourth place. Who can handle the pressure of the moment?
Skating starts at 10 a.m. ET. Refresh often for results and analysis from the USA TODAY Sports team.
– Russia’s Julia Lipnitskaia fell in
yesterday’s short program, but couldn’t come back with the same kind of
long program she did in the team event. A fall and a step out silenced
the arena. The score of 135.34 moved her into first place with five
skaters left. The good thing for Lipnitskaia is that she is just 15, and
will likely be back for more.
Skating order for the final six:
1. Lipnitskaia — Russia
2. Kostner — Italy
3. Sotnikova — Russia
4. Gold — USA
5. Wagner — USA
6. Kim — South Korea
