Ooni Of Ife Passes on in London

the first Nigerian who learnt about the death of Ooni is the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, before other prominent Yoruba kings. Ife indigenes and Osun state government officials contacted by Punch yesterday kept sealed lips about the king’s death but some traditional rulers in the state confirmed that the king is indeed dead.
The late ruler who was born 1 January 1930 passed on in the wee hours of Tuesday, July 28
He became the fiftieth traditional ruler in 1980, taking the regnal name Olubuse II.
