Reacting to the latest onslaught by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist
group, Asari described the episode as a political movement set up to cow
Christians in the northern part of Nigeria against voting for President
Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.
According to him, the key mission of Boko Haram was to instil fear in Christian communities in the northern part of the country, so that they cannot come out to queue up for Jonathan during the election.
Asari made his stand known last weekend in Port Harcourt at the 4th
edition of South-South Youth Leaders and Elders interactive forum.
The former Niger Delta militant leader said no matter what happens, President Jonathan have no choice other than to run for a second term even as he stressed that Boko Haram had nothing to do with Islam.
