Covenant University Makes World Top 10 List

An international provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, Elsevier, based in The Netherlands, has rated Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, among the world’s top 10 universities in research and development.

Elsevier developed SciVal, a solution that offers easy access to the research performance of 8,500 research institutions and 220 countries.

Speaking about the achievement in a statement, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aderemi Atayero, noted that through the financial support of the school’s Board of Regents, the university had signed up with Elsevier

A stepmother in Kano state locked these three children in a room in their apartment, hoping they would dies of starvation. The woman who is married to the children's father, allegedly locked them away immediately their father traveled out of the state.

Neighbours however got wind of what she had done and rescued the children who were already emaciated. The case has been reported at the state police command..

Pregnant Woman, Professor, 4 Others Die In Fatal Accident

A Professor of Human Physiology and Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences at the Federal University in Ebonyi State, Prof. Robert Nneli, and five others on Thursday died in a multiple auto crash that occurred along the Ezzamgbo axis of the Abakaliki/Enugu Expressway.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Stella Uchendu, who confirmed the accident, said that the crash occurred around 9pm on Thursday night.

The FRSC boss said that the accident happened as a result of a head-on collision that involved a trailer with registration number Nassarawa 2183 XT.

Protesting youths at Sobo bus stop, Akowonjo, Lagos State, went on the rampage yesterday after a mobile policeman shot dead a 23-year-old man, identified only as Niyi, aka Para.
